Danny Chan once sang his desire to stay out of the limelight; Anita Mui also sang about her desire to be independent of others’gazes… These were songs of a bygone era; an era of great stars: Wong Ka Kui, Danny Chan, Teresa Tang, Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui, Roman Tam. They couldn’t escape their respective fates. Danny Chan has departed, so has Wong Ka Kui, Leslie Cheung, Teresa Tang, Anita Mui and Roman Tam. An era has ended. We may trace when they appeared, how they garnered fame, but their lives all ended in melancholy. We could say, the 80s is an era of innocence, as well as experience.

陳百強走了、黃家駒走了、張國榮走了、鄧麗君走了、梅艷芳也走了，羅文走了。那一個時代結束了，若要說為何他們都在那時出現，闖出名堂，但都終於鬱鬱寡歡，那只可以說，八十年代，既是天真的时代,也是經驗的時代。
